I sat down in my chair to mediate the other day and began to worry myself over this experience. I was worried about being successful, and that is when it hit me: I was allowing my ego and the perception of other people to judge my mind.

Call me crazy, but after all of these years, I finally understood in only a minute that success is defined by us. We are our measure. We measure our mind, we see through our lens, and we must take on the responsibility of defining what success looks like in our life as well as in our meditation.
I wore blinders for a long time. I loved people that were bad for me and didn’t even acknowledge it. I took jobs that were not fulfilling at all but did well at just playing the corporate game. The lens our ego takes can give us rose-colored glasses. It can depict a world not filled with truth. We will butt heads and bump our toes on this truth every day until one day, we sit in a chair and remove the glasses, only to realize that the reality of what fills our life is within us already. We have to breathe into our presence and dissolve the ego that protects us.
