Hi my Dad is 72 years young lol and has had Mulitple Scierosis for 24 years he is wheel chair bound now he also has heart problems not sure if it’s down to the MS he hasn’t had a rite good time with his health just now and 3 weeks ago he had a chest infection and was taken for and x-ray only to our horror they found a shadow on his lungs he was given an appointment to go for a ct scan and made an appointment for the respiratory clinic and on Tuesday at the respiratory clinic they told him he had a cancerous tumour on his lungs They called him in this Friday for results of the scan for them to tell him there is a mark on his kidneys aswell and has to go for a pet scan now. Now my family all live up in Scotland and I’m in England we go up ever holidays when the kids are off and it’s been a while since we visited it was Christmas an due to my Dad not managing the 6/7 hours trip ( and that is definetly not a problem ) we have planned to go up for the Easter holidays anyways an now that I have this news I need to go visit now!!! The Schools have closed and another barrier is this virus now, I need to protect my parents even more so now but I need to see them and I don’t know what to do? I’m so scared and in shock everything is floating about in my head all I wanna do is go give him/ them a hug and I can’t. My Dad is not bothered about this virus ( not selfishly only for himself ) as he wants to have us all together I have 3 kids ages from oldest 12 till 6 and they want to see them ( they don’t know yet as I need to get round this first before I tell them they know he has MS and poorly heart they know what they do ) I’m so scared and don’t know what to do

I can’t help you decide what to do but I can say it is probably harder for you, than it is for your father, right now. I say this because my grown up children were totally freaked out by my recent breast cancer diagnosis – Far more than I was,
The worst thing is the isolation demanded by the current situation and I feel for you.
My children are using FaceTime to keep an eye on me every day, and they have forbidden me to take any risks. They would even stop me walking the dog if they could!
If you do visit, plan it for everyone’s safety and follow any instructions from his medical team.
Good luck and please don’t make yourself ill with stress.

Thank you my Dad is definetly putting on a brave face for us he said it’s not him suffering it’s his bairns, and I will most definetly will be safe and no matter how much he shows me he ain’t bothered about the virus ( for him again ) me on the other hand isn’t gonna chance it, I need to stay strong I have 3 sisters that have took it all in their own ways rite now it just doesn’t feel real so I need to take this chance to keep it together cause when I go il go but yeah FaceTime is a very good idea thank you funnily enuff when my kids were told they weren’t allowed out their panic set in an I said ” yous have phones don’t you lol ( not my 6 year old tho ) and that’s better than nothing. I hope you are keeping safe aswell and getting better xx
