It also creates stress and anxiety among their colleagues, diminishing rigor and creativity in the group and dragging down team members’ engagement and performance.
Managers, by definition, hold considerable power over other people — so how can you be sure that you aren’t falling victim to what I call the “power paradox”? How do you know whether the virtuous qualities that helped fuel your ascent are still guiding your behavior?
