Hi
This is my first time posting but felt that I needed to. I first found my lump around 6 weeks ago but put it down to my menstrual cycle! Last week I checked again and found that the lump had grown quite a bit and it’s unmissable now! I went to my gp the following day who then sent an urgent referral to be seen due to its shape, lack of pain and history of family breast cancer (my mum’s mum died at my age and her sister has had it twice and had to have a double vasectomy). A week on and hadn’t heard so contacted my gp yesterday, this morning I had a call saying that I will be getting a call within the next few days to arrange an appointment. I have no idea of the procedure or what will happen on the day so am hoping someone here will be able to help me
Many thanks xxx

Hi J xx
Thank you so much for replying, it means a lot x I’ve been pretty strong up until today, they finally called to make my appointment and it isn’t for another month!! That’s ridiculous! I had to call my gp to let them know and he isn’t happy, I have to go in for 3:30 today so they can check to see if it’s bigger so that he can speed them up! When they called me I asked what would happen on the day and she said she couldn’t help me as she’s just the appointments clerk. Hopefully my gp will tell me more later.
I hope that all is going to be ok with you, I totally get the worrying though, it’s horrible. I can forget it for a while but then I remember and I feel awful again. I haven’t told my daughter as don’t want her to worry incase it’s nothing but my hubby is worried and although he’s trying hard not to show it I can see it!!
Sending you big hugs too xxx

Hi
I’ve just got back home, doctor was brilliant, he is sending a fax asking them to see me within a week, 2 maximum. He was quite concerned and wants me to be seen asap. He said that in England patients are usually seen within 2 weeks but here in Wales they are a lot slower which seems wrong because of where you actually live!! So now it’s a waiting game again to be fine out when my appt is!!
My daughter has just turned 20 but had been through a lot so haven’t wanted her to worry, seems silly to make her worry if it ends up being nothing! How old is your daughter?
Yes we can definitely support and chat to each other and anyone else that needs it too xx fingers crossed all will be good for us and we will have been worrying for nothing xxxx

Hey,
I’m pleased your doctor is doing this for you, yes mine is a 2 week referral but still feels such a long time..
My daughter is 16 and just started her GCSEs so I don’t want to worry her with this.. it’s so hard to know what to do..
I love Wales we came last year and stayed near Builth Wells and did lots of driving to see the gorgeous scenery..
Well I’m going to go for a walk now and then start with cooking tea..
you take care and message me anytime and we can chat soon

Hi
Just been reading your thread and thought I would reach out to you both and share my experience of being referred.
You will be seen by someone who will check your breasts and ask you about your medical and family history. If you go to a one stop shop which I did, they then did a mammogram, I was then asked to have an ultra sound, they shared with me that they had some concerns and also did a biopsy. I had to go back the following week for the biopsy results.
If you can, take someone with you to the appointment for support and to ask questions. Also try not to google anything f as it will show you the worst case scenarios and will freak you out. Not all lumps are cancerous.
if you have any other questions please ask away, I’m sure some other people will be along to share their experiences. I hope you both get your appointments through soon.

Hi, thanks for replying, and thanks for giving me some background info on what will happen when I get my appt through. Gp had just this second called again to say that he has put it through as an urgent need to be seen now. I’ve tried not to Google but all the signs are pointing to it being something bad and am now doing my best not to! I’ve been so positive since seeing the gp the first time but today it sort of hit me a bit!! Knowing others are feeling the same sort of helps although I wouldn’t wish it on anyone x
J enjoy your walk and I’m always here if you need to chat xx
Big hugs to all xxx

Oh fat club I’m in the fat club club!! Although I’ve not been for a while I did slimming world last year which I did like but then stopped going again I start and stop but still try to do it without going I do love my overnight oats in a morning : )
Tonight was new potatoes, salad and Chinese pork steaks..
Do you have horses? I’ve just spotted your picture, my picture is just one off here, but I have just started horse riding again, I always had ponies when I was younger, I hope all this what’s going on won’t stop me from doing it.. xxx

Have you tried the baked oats or the ready brek pancakes? They are amazing!! I do have horses yes, have ridden most of my life and I couldn’t be without them! Good for you riding again and I’m sure no matter what the outcome for either of us we won’t let it stop us from doing anything xxx

Horses are very calming, mine know all my ups and downs, especially my girl called merry! She is one in a million and I must be making her ears bleed lately lol! You should really go tomorrow, it helps to forget everything and feel both peaceful and exhilarated at the same time! Maybe I should go tomorrow too! Don’t give up on it, no matter what as horses just seem to know how we are feeling x it is weird…but nice that we met on here, it’s so nice to be able to talk with someone that us going through the same….although I wouldn’t wish this feeling on anyone xx
