We are also committed to ensuring that clinical academics have the support they need to develop a career in cancer research, and we have a range of opportunities for clinical researchers at all career levels.
Our funding schemes accept research across the clinical and translational pipeline, as well as supporting clinical academic careers.
Clinical Trial Awards
Supports interventional clinical trials of cancer treatment (including systemic treatment, radiotherapy and surgery) with the aim of improving outcome.
Clinician Scientist Fellowship
Offers excellent individuals the opportunity to develop their clinical academic research career through a five year postdoctoral fellowship.
Biomarker Project Award
For development, validation and qualification of biomarkers for use in the clinical setting.
Clinical researchers may apply for different types of funding at different stages of their careers, from fellowships to research projects and programmes.

The ECMC Network of 18 virtual Centres supports early-phase clinical trials and translational research.
