Hey last week I noticed a swollen lymph node on the left bottom part of my head, it’s very small and hasent increased in size but doesn’t move or hurt and is hard. My head started itching horribly after I washed it last week and I’m not sure if it’s an allergic reaction or not.
I am 20 years old with a very bad history of mental health problems and I contacted my GP, they told me to wait 2 weeks to see if it grows and they where only taking appointments over the phone…
I have not had any symptoms but I have a history of anorexia and my health is already horrible, I have not been able to sleep in days due to stress and I have been crying everyday. I do not know what to do in order to recieve help sooner as I cannot cope with not knowing especially with my mental health, I don’t know what to do and I would appreciate some help… thank you.

Hello Nora2000 and thank you for posting on Cancer Chat. I am sorry to learn about your health problems. It does sound like you have been through a lot.
I would like to be able to help, as clearly this is a very difficult time for you. But it is not possible for me to tell you what is causing your symptoms. But it is fair to say, that this does not sound particularly, like anything serious and you could be right in thinking that it is an allergic reaction. Also any type of cancer is rare in people of your age. So although it is easier said than done, try not to be worried about this being anything to bad. It does sound like your doctor has given good advice in suggesting that you wait a couple of weeks to see if the problem clears up. However, I can appreciate that this wait is having an impact on your mental health and this must be horrid for you. I am no expert in mental health issues. So, I wonder if it is worth contacting your GP again to let them know that you feel that the wait is having an impact on this side of your health. Also if you still have contact with a mental health team you could let them know how you are feeling. There is also some useful mental health advice on the NHS Every Mind Matters website. Also if you can do talk to trusted friends or family members about how you are feeling as this can help.
