The Coolest Laptop Bag Ever (err…a shameless self promotion post)
This one’s a week late in coming, but every now and then it’s fun to put up a post that’s more about the people of the industry than the industry itself. While SES San Jose marked my twelfth SES show, it was the first one attended by Search Engine Guide’s publisher, Robert Clough. Having worked for Robert for three and a half years without ever meeting (or even seeing a picture of) him, I was as curious as the next search marketer. The wait was well worth it though, as Robert decided to do it up right with some killer schwag.
Meet the Search Engine Guide Timbuk2 Blogger bag…
Oh yeah, it’s every bit as cool as it looks. (I can say that because they weren’t my idea.) Robert arrived in San Jose with an entire extra suitcase packed to the gills with these things. They were our “thank you” gift the amazing team of guest bloggers (David, Stoney, Manoj, Debra, Diane and Liana) forum moderators (Chris and Matt), podcasters (Matt), advertisers and a few long-time Search Engine Guide friends.
In fact, Robert threw a nice little luncheon for our team on Tuesday where he passed them all out and made them pose for the obligatory “hold up your bag” shot.
All in all, the bags seemed to be a hit. (At least enough of a hit that I’m trying to get him to do a second run.) Finally, if you ever wondered what Robert Clough looked like (I know I sure did!), here’s your money shot:

I love this new “blogger” style laptop bag. It is so much lighter than my leather case and much cooler looking to boot. From now on whenever I travel with the laptop, whether that be out of town or someplace local with a WIFI hotspot, the bag comes with me.
David, I’m glad you like the bag! I really like Timbuk2 bags in general and I love the way this style holds the laptop vertically. Now I have to start planning how I’m going to top that for next year’s goodies. 🙂
Oh man! I knew I should’ve made the effort to get to SES San Jose. The goodies swag everyone is posting looked like the best yet. But seriously, that’s one cool looking laptop bag. Great color choice too. Terrific to finally put a face to RC. Thanks for sharing the pic!
I do have to admit, it is a pretty sweet bag, I am surprised we all fit in that picture 🙂
I do love this bag. I’m a messenger bag junkie, so when Robert sent me hunting for one for us, this went to the top of my list.
I’ve been using it for about six months and the thing holds up really well.
Only problem is my laptop doesn’t actually fit in the padded sleeve area. LOL…apparently I need a new laptop. 🙂
Thank you for the bag, Search Engine Guide team; and again, great to meet you in San Jose! I look forward to retiring my ad:tech bag that I’ve been using for a laptop/file bag on travel 😉
Kalena… We’ll just have to come up with something so good for next year that you won’t be able to resist coming. 🙂
Erica… You are very welcome!
That’s a cool bag….nice work
