Waiting for biopsy results

I had my biopsy almost 3 weeks ago, and was told I’d hear within 4 weeks. Is it a case of no news is goood news? If it was clear would I have heard by now? It was a gynaecology appointment, so was from my womb as far as I know, I never actually asked if it was my cervix or womb, was too sore to think at the time. I just know the doc said he wants to make sure he gets a big enough sample for them to test?
Trying not to worry, but can’t help it…..

Hi Westcoastwife,
It is understandably worrying when there is this uncertainty. Try not to read anything into the waiting time one way or the other – there’s no correlation between how long the wait is and what it might mean, it is usually simply a case of how busy the hospital is. If you haven’t heard within the next week or so you could always call the hospital to check.
Do make sure you discuss any questions you have with your doctor so that you’re informed about what it was they did and what it means.
I hope you don’t have too much longer to wait.

I also had a biopsy nearly 2 week’s ago I’m waiting for the results the consultant told me that it would take 3 week’s before I got the results and anything untoward they would phone me otherwise I will hear from letter.
So try not to worry as no news could be good news ….

Thank you. Am trying not to worry, you always think it won’t happen to you, but it does happen to folk. No news today, but I’ll keep checking the postbox

Yes it is but we have to be positive and patient otherwise our nerves would be shot to pieces .

Hello, I too am waiting on biopsy results and MRI. And I too don’t know if it’s womb or cervix. One consultant has said one thing, and one another… It is all very confusing and worrying. I hope your results are good news, I really do and everyone else waiting for results. Oh man, it’s the worst feeling – the unknown! Take care x

Hi there, how did you find the biopsy? I was told it would be sore but ouchy!! I was too sore to think about asking questions, and I Was told I could watch what they were doing on the monitor… Eh, no way! I was sore for up to a week, not the couple of days he told me. I am so disappointed each day the postie comes and there’s no news
I hope you find out soon, waiting really is hellish xx

Hi don’t know if this will help but I went for hysteroscopy and biopsy 2 week’s ago today and my results came back in the post today I was so nervous but I have the all clear so I am relieved as you can imagine.
Consultant told me 3 week’s and it’s been exactly 2

Hi Tigeress, that’s fantastic news, am so pleased for you. I hope you have a wee drink to celebrate that. Still no news for me, I keep watching for what the postie will bring, but nothing yet. Am sure it’ll be fine, but I just want that letter so I can breathe a big sigh of relief xx

Hey there sweetie, well I had an attempted hysterectomy (biopsy) with no anaesthetic and I about hit the roof. I was told “period pain like cramping and a very sharp pinch”. No way. This was pain like I’ve never had and never want to again. I almost passed out! She tried twice and I screamed so had to go and have a general but punctured my uterus and had to stay in overnight! I was a bit sore and still getting twinges nearly 2 weeks on.. oh god yeah, I work from home and every time the postman comes I dunno whether to feel relieved when I haven’t got a letter or more anxious. Not sleeping very well either. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on – we’re in this together

Thank you, am sure we will both be fine, but it’s the waiting isn’t it?
As for the pain, we’ll seeing it was a male doctor, if only they had to go through it!!

I’m having the hysteroscopy under GA but worry that as I’m asleep it will be longer recovery – will they be more ‘careless’ if you know what i mean. Cant win i dont think on this one. As its the hospital booking the tests They arent giving me any more results until they gather the mri, ca125 and biopsy results all together and our area have quite long queues for tests and results.
i would have prob passed out anyway if they had tried when i was awake.
