A source inside the US Senate has reported that Republicans and Democrats are teaming up and using the recent tragedy in Texas as the impetus to push through a massive federal gun control bill.

In an email Tuesday night, former Congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul released an ominous statement claiming that a source they have in the Senate revealed Democrats are teaming up with Republicans to push through a massive gun control bill.
According to their source, as Paul explained, “Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) are teaming up with Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) to ram through one of the worst nationwide gun confiscation schemes ever devised.”
The gun confiscation bill, according to Paul, is designed to disarm Americans without any due process. The senators are using the recent tragic shooting in Texas as the impetus behind the law—in spite of the fact that this law would not have prevented the shooting at all.
As the Free Thought Project has previously reported, some states have already begun implementing laws like this one. Using mass shootings as a their ammunition, states have enacted “Red Flag” or “Risk Protection” laws which allow police to confiscate a person’s weapon before they are ever given a chance to defend themselves.e two men were suspected of committing a crime, nor had they committed a crime.
Under the fifth and fourteenth amendments, due process clauses are in place to act as a safeguard from arbitrary denial of life, liberty, or property by the government outside the sanction of law. What’s more, neither of the men were granted their sixth amendment rights to be confronted with the witnesses against them. In both cases, simple orders—under new laws—were issued, arguably arbitrarily, which stripped these two men of their property.
In spite of what officials and the media claim, when a person is stripped of their constitutional rights, albeit temporarily, without being given the chance to make their own case based on what can be entirely arbitrary accusations, this is the removal of due process.
As Ron Paul explains, this removal of due process could soon be a federal law.
Under so-called “Red Flag” or “Risk Protection” Orders, anti-gun family members, neighbors, or associates could have your guns taken away based on mere accusations without any real due process or trial.
In secret court proceedings, where only your accuser is present, judges could determine that you pose a “significant danger” to someone, including yourself.
Imagine your surprise when a heavily armed SWAT Team arrives to seize your lawfully owned firearms.
It would then cost you tens of thousands of dollars in court costs and weeks or even months to try and convince the court they made a mistake.
To be clear, no one here is advocating for people determined to be mentally unfit to be able to possess firearms. However, they need to be determined to be mentally unfit before they lose their rights.
To those who may be in favor of such laws, consider the following: There is no way to stop an estranged spouse from calling police repeatedly and telling them their ex is threatening to cause harm to others. While the man in Florida had his guns taken for being psychologically unfit, the man in Seattle simply open-carried a pistol and looked out of windows and his guns were taken because his neighbors thought it was strange.
Anyone, any time, now has the ability to claim someone else is a threat and have police take their guns. One does not need to delve into the multiple ‘what if’ scenarios to see what sort of ominous implications arise from such a practice. What’s more, police in some states now have the power to deem you a threat at any time and legally disarm you—due process be damned.
This is the exact scenario that Donald Trump advocated for in February.

As Ron Paul explains, this is entirely unconstitutional.
The words of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution are so easy to grasp:
“. . . the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
There were no asterisks and no footnotes. There are no sentences that follow which start with the words “unless” or “however.” The right to defend your life and property shall not be infringed by the government.
Period.

Liberals love to mock the idea that a good guy with a gun can take out a bad guy with a gun, saying it’s absurd that an untrained non-law enforcement officer could possibly save lives and stop an armed madman. It happens all the time and liberals get around this fact by ignoring it in favor of their bogus anti-gun narrative. They will most certainly brush off what happened in Oklahoma when a potential mass shooter was stopped dead in his tracks by a hero with a gun.

A man “opened fire” Thursday in an Oklahoma restaurant, leaving at least four people injured, before he was fatally shot by a bystander, police said.
The gunfire unfolded at about 6:30 p.m. local time at Louie’s on the Lake in Oklahoma City…
The unidentified shooter entered the restaurant and fired his gun, Oklahoma City Police…added that four people had been injured.
The man, police said, “was apparently shot-to-death by an armed citizen” outside the restaurant and there was “no indication of terrorism.”
Another thing that there is no indication of is a mass casualty event, thanks to a good guy with a gun. Police report that one of the injured was in serious condition but there are no reported fatalities besides the gunman. Of the 4 injured it appears that only two were shot and they are expected to survive, including the one in serious condition.
The two gunshot victims are described as a mother and daughter who were at the restaurant celebrating a birthday. The police at this point do not know if the gunman knew the victims or if this was a random attack.
There’s obviously a lot of things that aren’t known about this shooting, but one thing is for sure: an armed good guy took out an armed bad guy. Whatever the motive of the gunman, whether he wanted to commit a mass shooting or was targeting someone specific, he went to the restaurant to kill people and was stopped by an average person who was carrying a firearm.
I guarantee that everyone at that establishment who wasn’t killed is glad they don’t live in a liberal city and state where people are denied the right to carry a gun. I’m sure they are also thankful that there happened to be a hero present in the face of evil.
So the way it works on the left is that when an insane person breaks dozens of laws and kills people in a gun-free zone, they blame the gun. They don’t however give the gun any credit for stopping a potential mass shooting. I tend to believe that people are responsible for the things they do, both good and bad, but if liberals are going to blame guns when people use them for bad things, they ought to praise guns when people use them to save lives.
The liberal media of course will not spend any time on this story because it’s not “sexy” like a mass shooting and it doesn’t help promote their anti-gun agenda. It’s kind of hard to argue that people shouldn’t be allowed to own guns when a person with a gun saved so many lives.

So, after yet another range session and very good results with the M9, this time out to 50 meters, I was doing some reading to see if there were any internal parts upgrades available. Apparently, not having a M9 for several decades, and therefore not really paying attention to product improvements, I’m about the only person in the free world that didn’t know they were out there. <insert eye roll here>.
First thing I did was get a ‘D Hammer Spring’, which is basically about 4 links shorter than the standard. You can see the difference in the image below. The idea behind it is to lower the double action trigger pull from somewhere around 13 pounds or so down to 6 to 8 while still providing the force necessary for the hammer and firing pin to penetrate hard primers. It also lowers the single action trigger pull down to something near 4 to 5 pounds. Ok, I spent $11.
Man, does that make a difference!
Second upgrade: Wolff black steel op rod & 15 pound recoil spring (fits over the op rod if you’re not familiar with it) Factory is 13 pounds. The factory plastic (and fluted) op rod just did not provide the confidence I want for a SHTF pistol. When it comes to the recoil spring, personally, I like just a bit more power, especially when I’m shooting rounds like Federal’s HST +P. Cost: $8.50 for the spring and $24 for the op rod.
After that, I picked up a Wilson Combat Recoil Buffer. Another $10. This fits over the recoil spring and sits up near the face of the slide. It doesn’t change or interfere with operations; it simply acts as a pad between the violent rearward movement of the slide and the front of the slide when it hits the face of the locking block. These are worthwhile; I put them in every pistol I own. Makes the pistol keep operating as new for a long, long, long time. And I like that.
At this point I’ve got $53.50 invested.
Then I’m seeing this Wolff Trigger Conversion Unit also sold by Wilson Combat under the same name. I chose the Wolff version for two reasons: I’m very comfortable with Wolff’s quality and customer support (should it be necessary). The Wilson Combat version was $7 less expensive, but they’re out of stock, a LOT, and Wolff has a good supply.
Sooooo, I purchased the ‘Extra Power’ model. It’s simply a pound or so more than the standard, and it’s designed to eliminate trigger return spring breakage and ‘spring stacking.’ It’s Np3 coated, and is drop in both design and application. $25.
Now I’m up to just about $79. Last, but certainly not least, was getting some more aggressive grip panels. My hands are average, and I can handle the M9 very well, but I wanted just a tad more purchase on the pistol when holding it. So, I found a pair of ERGO hard rubber grips with medium abrasion (meaning you can hold it well when your hands are slippery) for $20 shipped.
$99 to put everything I want on the M9 to have it continue to look like a service grade and shoot like it’s almost match grade.
I’m toying with putting on the adjustable rear sight; back in the day in the Air Force, we were always provided adjustable sights until the M9, and then, after I retired, I assumed there would be that upfit. I don’t know, but the sight itself looks a lot like the old S&W M15 adjustable that I was weaned on. No decision yet; I’m not sure if I want to pay between $75 and $100 for this upgrade when the issue sights and my eyes still seem to work pretty good. 80% hits in vital areas at 50 meters ain’t too bad, so for now, this is on the shelf.
All the improvements above have countless YouTube videos available to demonstrate, from the home grown to official Beretta versions. I was able to do each operation without too much trouble (meaning it was me and not the pistol or the instruction) and get everything done in minutes.
If you’re a Beretta 92 or M9 owner, check the upgrades out; it might be worth your while. It certain was mine – this M9 SINGS on the range!!
Just understand that a WROL/SHTF situation here, in our country, will be similar to the aftermath of WWII in Europe…..this work could go into the ‘Required Reading’ list of any prepper or patriot community member, and rightfully should…..
When reading, a recurring pattern becomes apparent to the reader: The liberated, unless very, very careful, may well become the same, or very similar too, those they were liberated from, and foist the same barbarities on those whom they now over power, thus negating any claim to ‘righteousness’ they may have believed they had by being the oppressed.
My personal lesson after reading: Do not, no matter what, resort to the same tactics as the barbarians you fight, because you will become what they were, and if that occurs, what was the fight about in the first place? If you become who they are, they have won, even after you’ve killed them. To paraphrase a movie quote, “….you may have to live as animals, but you will not become animals…..”

To determine what might work for you when it comes to going to the range to practice the fundamentals with live fire, a presumption must be made that you’re doing dry fire a couple times a week for at least 10 minutes a session. Yes, boring, repetitious, and tedious, but you need to accept this as a minimum if you want to master your weapon of choice and become very, very good at applying the fundamentals you practice in live fire. And truly, that’s all renowned shooters are doing when you see them performing very fast and very accurately on the range:
They are simply applying the fundamentals in a quick, effective manner. Nothing more, nothing less. No secret techniques, just mastery of the fundamentals.
So, how much range time? I’ve found that for me to ensure personal proficiency, I’m expending at least 50 to 100 rounds of whatever I’m primarily carrying every 4 to 6 weeks. If it’s monthly, a box of 50 is fine, if it’s every 6 weeks, 2 boxes of 50. I might even go as often as every 3 weeks, but that’s because I’m stoked, but it’s not all the time, and no matter what, I do the dry fire as often as I can. It’s all based on balancing my schedule (personal and professional obligations) and checkbook (even bought by the 1K round case, ammo gets expensive!), and need for simple relaxation.
So, what’s the take away here? Simply this: Make the practice of handling/shooting your weapons part of your normal routine. The skills you pick up are perishable by nature, and if you aren’t careful, life has a way of overcoming your practice, and the next thing you know, you haven’t touched a pistol, rifle, or shotgun in months! Do not let that happen!
Minimally, if you dry fire routinely (twice a week, 10 minutes each session), you can get away with every 6 weeks. For self-evaluation, every other range session put yourself through a 50 round ‘qualification’ course. With a pistol, at 25 yards/meters; with a rifle, do an AQT or NRA High Power type course. Doing so will have you ‘qualifying’ every quarter, which is much, much better than 95% of all shooters will do. Your skill mastery will show it, too!
Discipline is key here, because if you’re like me, dry fire gets to be very monotonous. However, without it, those perishable skills you’ve picked up will deteriorate to one degree or another. I’d prefer disciplined monotony to suffering regret when or if I need to employ those skills. Just sayin’. One way I keep it interesting is only doing dry fire with one platform a session. One day I might be using my M-Forgery; another a pistol; another, a bolt gun. I also add different miniature targets any time I can.
One thing in my dry fire that is not negotiable is the application of safety practices:
