I’m 15 and I have a mole on my back which looks different to the one by it. I looked of google about some of the symptoms and the mole I have isn’t asymmetrical it has a well defined border only one colour smaller than 6mm but is raised and different from the mole surrounding it and I worry it could be something worse.

From what you are saying, it is a perfectly normal mole. Some people have moles growing out of the blue in their bodies their whole lives (like me!). I am not a doctor, of course, but I know that when it is cancer, it will either be itchy, with irregular borders, multiple colours etc. Having said that, go and see your GP for peace of mind!

I’m afraid as nurses we are unable to diagnose or advise what the matter might be.
Moles are common but they should always be checked out if they change shape or colour. This does not always mean that anything serious is wrong but they should be examined just to be on the safe side. The best thing to do is to make an appointment to speak with your GP. They are very experienced at looking at skin. They may do a telephone consultation first before deciding if they need to see you in the surgery. Most moles are easily explained and are not anything serious, but it is always sensible to get any problems checked out to be on the safe side. This is the best way of sorting out your concerns.

I feel though googling symptoms has made me believe I now have a cancer and I also have this other mole that has 2 shades of brown but I believe it to have been there for years but google has made me believe I now have cancer
