Hi there,
I went to the doctors yesterday to have my right breast checked. The only way I could describe it was ‘it felt more muscly’ like thickened breast tissue.
when I was there the doctor had a feel and she noticed that the muscle above my right breast was inflamed and swollen. When I got home I checked in the mirror and she’s right. My left breast dips correctly from my chest, where as my right is raised. It is sore and now I think about it, it’s been sore for a couple of months. My 11 month old daughter often whacks that part of my chest (by accident of course) and it really hurts! I actually say out loud ‘ouch!’ And rub the area until the soreness goes away. I’ve just had a feel again and the swelling and soreness goes from the top right of my chest down into the side of my right breast (where I noticed the change).
has anyone experienced this before or know what it would be? I’m 29 years old.

Hello BB08,
I am sorry to hear about your concern about your breast but I am afraid that no one here can tell you what is casing these symptoms. You tell us that you seen your GP who examined you and would have said what has caused these symptoms, for example an infection or injury.
If you are unsure about what your GP has said it would be a good idea to get back to her via a telephone appointment and ask her about it.
However, if your GP is not concerned then it would be a good idea to see how this goes and if over the next couple of weeks this does not get better go and see your GP again. I see that you are young and while I cannot give you 100% reassurances this is unlikely to be cancer at your age.
