I’m reaching out to anyone who can help or has any experience of any of the following.
Im 10 weeks into what started as a sore throat on one side when I teach. I teach quite long hours and at first, holding my neck helped to ease it.
This quickly escalated into constant aching on both side of my neck and inside my throat but deep down, losing my voice which is now quite hoarse and pain in my ears just below/behind ears. Pain in my left groin and left arm pit began.. although mild, with no swelling.
in the past 4 weeks I’ve become unbelievably fatigued and nauseous, I can’t really go anywhere without being totally wiped out. the neck/groin/under arm pain is unbearable and debilitating and I’m off teaching for the foreseeable.
My first Dr asked me if I thought I had cancer to which I laughed because that wasn’t even on my mind. He was quite patronising and said come back in 5 weeks if it’s still the same. I didn’t last 5 weeks. After 2 I saw someone else. She has referred me to ent but not emergency and did bloods which showed nothing excerpt slightly raised LFT which she was not concerned about. She has given me a throat spray which was unhelpful as it’s my neck that is unbearable and I can’t teach as I have no voice and a dry irritating cough.
yeaterday she called me to go for a chest X-ray. I just don’t underneath what’s happening and I just want to know this will end or if anyone had anything similar. Im getting worried as each day I get worse and it seems never ending.

Hi. Sorry to hear. I’m also having pain on left.side of neck and under armpits. I went doctors and said I could feel a lump about 2 inches up from collarbone on left side of neck. He didnt seem bothered at all. I can still feel it and worried.

Maybe it’s just how i feel at the minute but surely it should be investigated if it’s a lump.. of be worried too. I feel like they think I’m wasting their time sometime xx sorry you’re kind of in the same boat xx

Yea same. I should make another appointment maybe ask for the other doctor. Have you had the x ray yet

It’s tomorrow so I’ll see what they say but I doubt anything. I’m not even sure why an X-ray, it’s like they don’t want to tell me x

Just updating in case anyone ever searches pain but no swelling.
Chest X-ray was clear, bloods show some low platelets, ultrasound on groin and under arm shows no swelling. Waiting for ENT next week to look at throat and neck.
im feeling better in myself. Nausea, tiredness still there but managing it. Pain however is awful. Driving my crackers.
Maybe someone can shed light on why areas of lymph nodes are so painful :/

Hi @TCTC – I’ve got left hand side armpit and groin pain, I’ve been looking through these posts for a couple of weeks now and other peoplemention the left side pain but I’ve yet to see anyone then go on to report their diagnosis, so I’d be interested too!! (I’m awaiting colonoscopy and endoscopy)

Do you have any swelling? How old are you? It’s baffling me as the literature all says cancer usually is accompanied with swelling but no pain, and I have the opposite. I’m having a lot of abdominal pain too and waiting further tests.

Doctor says there is no swelling, but I’ve noticed the left side of my face is puffy and that’s starting to hurt too!! Whatever it is, it doesn’t like the left!
Have you had any blood tests yet?

I am experiencing the exact same thing. No swelling, pain in different areas of my neck, throat, behind my ears, under arms and side of breasts. Started only on the left hand side but now experiencing it on both sides. Bloods, x-ray and ultrasound have all come back clear. The pains are daily. Wondering if it’s worth requesting a CT scan or MRI next.

I’m exactly the same as you, I’ve been off work seven months now due this mystery illness as I’m fatigued, short of breath at times too, ache in right side of neck, top right chest and armpit. Have you found an answer??
