The Valsetz RTS boots we are reviewing today are one of those models.
Under Armour is listing quite a few strong sides of the boots as advantages over the competition, with its main forte being the upper of the boot that’s designed to be resistant to water, very light and yet durable. The perimeter of the foot is made to be resistant to abrasions by using a mixture of textile and leather. They list a few patented technologies and materials that are supposed to make the Valsetz unparalleled in absorbing shocks, comfy landings and “locked foot” experience. In the specs below, they talk about, TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethane) shank, Molded Ortholite used in the sockliner, special anti-odor materials, the midsole made of compressed EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate)…

Looks more like a running shoe than a boot to me. Probably why they’re so comfortable!
Yes, It is a lot like a shoe but you do still get some of the support from a boot. Clearly not as much as a full leather boot, but still not bad for everyday wear.

These are much more light duty compared to an all leather Danner boot. Nope I haven’t used the Nike’s boot at all. Hadn’t even heard of them to be honest. But hey, you got your link up so that is all that matters! 🙂

Next month, I will be going on a day hike, but I don’t own hiking boots. In the warmer weather when I’m on park trails it’s VFFs or barefoot. I do own a pair of these Bates 8-in side zip tactical boots for my fire safety courses. It seems many of the requirements for our footwear translates to the hiking boot, such as protection from the elements, grip, and comfort, so I’m unsure if I should be worried about wearing them for a hike or not.
